New content and enhanced search functionalities make discovery and shopping even easier for consumers
San Francisco, CA – March 16, 2012 – Today, Wine.com – the nation’s #1 online wine retailer – has launched another core educational resource to help wine lovers learn about and explore new wines. Now live, the Wine.com Tasting Room offers consumers a selection of custom wine recommendations and informative guides with a new theme every month – enhancing the wine discovery and shopping experience.
Wine.com customers are a diverse group of wine drinkers, so to cater to all levels of knowledge, the Wine.com Tasting Room will include exclusive content for three groups: Novice, Enthusiast and Collector. Every month, Wine.com experts will select a theme for each, from discovering a new variety or region to food and wine pairing. The content will include videos, educational facts and guidance on each selection of wines.
“Picking the right wine isn’t always easy -it can even get overwhelming no matter what level of knowledge you have,” said Gwendolyn Osborn, Director of Content and Education at Wine.com. “The mission of the Wine.com Tasting Room is to offer personalized service and recommendations, similar to the experience one receives at a winery’s ‘live’ tasting room. We may be virtual, but we have the ability to offer the same kind of education and service with curated lists that will appeal to consumers with different levels of wine expertise.”
Wine.com has also added other features to their consumer site in order to make shopping for wine even easier and more comprehensive. Recent enhancements include Facebook Connect integration and the addition of alcohol by volume (ABV) percentages to product detail pages. The site also added an ABV slider advanced search function so shoppers can narrow their search by alcohol content.
Wine.com is the nation’s #1 online wine retailer, offering thousands of wines, wine gifts, gift baskets, corporate gifts and monthly wine clubs. Wine.com’s mission is to be the ultimate resource for wine enthusiasts, whether shopping for themselves or a gift. Wine.com offers a combination of selection, value, service and detailed product information that is impossible to find in a brick and mortar store. Wine.com is the world’s most visited wine website and also runs the wine flash sales site, WineShopper. Wine.com is majority owned by Baker Capital.
